Ronnie Lake

RONNIE LAKE arrived in Nashville in in 1976 to work at WLAC-AM (15LAC). A native of Louisville KY, Ronnie’s radio journey to Nashville ran through Grand Rapids, Philadelphia, Hartford, Louisville, and Lexington KY while at the University of Kentucky.

Other stations he worked in Nashville during the 1980’s include WLAC-FM, WKDA-AM, WMAK-AM, WBYQ-FM (92Q), and as a country consultant to shortwave WWCR.  LAKE also spent some time in Tampa-St Petersburg.

Aside from radio, Ronnie was key in setting up advertising on local cable TV franchise Viacom, and beginning high school football broadcast on cable TV.  As a promotion coordinator and associate producer, Ronnie was deeply involved in Big 10 sports telecasts.  In addition he wrote the script for History of the Volunteer Jam telecast which aired by Pay per View TV company SportsView in January 1985.

During the 1990’s Ronnie was an owner of AMFM Company, a radio promotion company before selling on 1998.

Nashville being central to Country music, Ronnie had parts in Music Video’s with Big and Rich, and Sammy Kershaw, as well as appearances in Monday Night Football show telecast open sequences.

He took a break from radio on 1996 and became a software trainer and custom project developer for LBMC a Brentwood Accounting firm.

Ronnie retired on 2010 and in 2015 he joined Hippie Radio as an air personality, April 2017 found Ronnie on your radio every afternoon from 3-7.

A Titans seasons ticket holder, Ronnie is continuously hopeful.

Ronnie is a proud resident of Bellevue since 1981. He is married to Becky an RN at Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital, has a daughter Kacey, Granddaughter Cameron, and son in law Brian. Plus a cat named Jingle.
